Meet Julie Damhus, the creative force behind Julie Damhus Studio, a Danish ceramic workshop where craftsmanship and design meet. Julie is driven by a desire to create ceramics that are not only functional but also visually captivating. For her, pottery is about crafting surfaces and forms that invite use, with an honest and natural approach to the craft, always focusing on aesthetics.

Julie’s ceramics are hand-thrown, meaning that every piece is unique, with its own subtle details and character. The process of throwing requires concentration and attention to detail, ensuring that each mug, pitcher, or bowl feels like a special creation while still fitting harmoniously with the rest of the collection. Julie’s work is rooted in classic pottery techniques, yet it continuously evolves, influenced by both current design trends and her own intuitive sense of what will complement your home.

Her work is often feminine, with a simplified form that holds a bit of an edge. The designs are punctuated by fine details—whether it's a unique curve or a glossy glaze that adds surprise and intrigue to the piece. Color and form in her ceramics emerge from her desire to experiment with clay and explore its potential, creating pieces that feel both timeless and contemporary.

Julie’s background in design, having graduated from Designskolen Kolding in 2014, combined with her apprenticeship under potter Lars H. Kähler, has shaped her refined and minimalist style. In 2017, she founded Julie Damhus Studio, where she creates and develops her pieces at her workshop on Djursland.

As Julie’s ceramic creations gained popularity, her studio has expanded to meet demand. While Julie still produces her signature hand-thrown collection, Oda, she has also designed the Toto collection, produced at a family-run workshop abroad. This collection carries the same sensory quality and attention to detail as her hand-thrown work, allowing the Oda and Toto pieces to mix and match seamlessly, making them the perfect addition to any home.

If you would like to return a product, you must return the product to us within 14 days of receipt. The cost of returning your order will not be covered by Clayful Copenhagen. You will be held liable for any damage that may occur in transit so we recommend choosing a delivery option with tracking and trace and insurance included.

Products must be returned in their original packaging and in its original condition.
