About the Artist

WAUW Design is the creative studio of Sussi Krull, a Danish ceramicist known for her deep connection to nature and her thoughtful, grounded approach to craft. Working from her workshop in Østerbro, Copenhagen, Sussi designs and produces each piece by hand—ensuring a tactile, personal quality that runs through the entire collection.

Sussi graduated from the Royal Danish Academy’s Glass & Ceramics program in 2006, and since then, her practice has been defined by a reverence for material, process, and place. Growing up in the South Funen landscape, surrounded by the meeting point of sea and land, she developed a lifelong fascination with natural forms and shifting textures. This relationship with nature continues to guide her creative process, shaping both the aesthetics and spirit of her work.

Her ceramics are crafted using a mix of traditional techniques and mold-based processes, allowing her to explore form and repetition while maintaining the uniqueness of each individual piece. Sussi’s glazes are a signature element—subtle, organic, and often reminiscent of marbled stone, water surfaces, or raw earth. They’re not just decorative, but expressive—revealing the flow of the material and the rhythm of the making.
